Web Design & Development for Small Business

A website that looks like a real business, loads in under a second, ranks locally and turns visitors into calls, bookings and quote requests. Built by developers, not templates.

Most small business websites are bought as a one-time product: a template, a logo, a few pages, done. Six months later it is slow, it does not show up in local search, nobody can update it and every new idea — online booking, a quote form that talks to your CRM, a customer login — means starting from scratch.

We build differently. Every gambOtage website starts with how your business actually gets customers, then we design and hand-code a site around that: clear messaging, honest visual design, sub-second load times, technical SEO baked in, and a foundation that can carry lead automation, integrations and custom software when you are ready for them.

The result is a professional web design that competes with much larger companies — and a partner who can keep building with you across Vancouver, Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey, Chilliwack and the rest of the Fraser Valley.

What is included

What you get with web design & development

Strategy & messaging

We map who your customers are, what they search for and what makes them pick up the phone — before a single pixel is drawn.

Custom design

Typography, layout and visuals designed for your brand and your buyers. No purchased themes, no stock-template look.

Hand-coded, performance-first build

Semantic HTML, modern CSS and only the JavaScript you need. Sites routinely score in the green on Core Web Vitals.

Mobile-first responsive behaviour

Designed on a phone screen first, because that is where most of your visitors are. Tested on real devices.

Technical & local SEO foundation

Clean URL architecture, structured data, fast rendering, image optimization, XML sitemap and Google Business Profile alignment from day one.

Conversion architecture

Calls, forms, click-to-text, booking and quote flows placed where people decide — and measured so we can improve them.

Accessibility & standards

WCAG-minded contrast, keyboard navigation and screen-reader friendly markup. Good for people, good for rankings.

Ownership & training

You own the code, the domain and the hosting. We show you how to make everyday changes — or we handle them under a care plan.

How we approach it

A process that respects your time and your budget.

  1. 01

    Discover

A working session on your customers, competitors, offers and the numbers that matter. We audit your current site and search presence.

  2. 02

    Design

Sitemap, wireframes and visual design in your brand. You review real pages, not abstract mood boards.

  3. 03

    Build

Hand-coded development, content migration, integrations and SEO implementation on a staging site you can click through.

  4. 04

    Launch & optimize

Redirects, analytics, Search Console, Google Business Profile — then a 30-day optimization pass once real traffic arrives.

Outcomes

What changes for your business

  • A website that loads fast on rural Fraser Valley cell signal, not just office Wi-Fi
  • Local search visibility for the services and cities you actually serve
  • More calls, form fills and bookings from the same traffic
  • A platform you can extend — booking, CRM, portals, payments — without a rebuild

Need more than a website?

Plan the layers now. Add them when you are ready.

Every gambOtage website is built to carry these pieces without a rebuild. Tick what you think you will need and we will include it in the plan.

FAQ

Web Design & Development questions

How much does a small business website cost?

Most small business websites we build fall into a defined project range based on page count, custom functionality and content needs. We quote a fixed price after a short discovery call, so there are no surprises. Ask us for a written estimate — it is free and takes about a day.

How long does it take to build a website?

A typical small business website takes 4–8 weeks from kickoff to launch. Simpler sites can move faster; sites with custom functionality, e-commerce or integrations take longer. We agree on a schedule before we start.

Do you use WordPress or templates?

We build on whatever platform genuinely fits the job — including WordPress when a client needs a familiar editor — but we never start from a purchased theme. Design is custom and code is written for performance. If you want a lightweight, extremely fast site, we will often recommend a hand-coded or headless build.

Will I be able to update the website myself?

Yes. Depending on the build you get either a content management system or a simple editing workflow, plus a walkthrough. Many clients prefer to send us changes under a monthly care plan so they never have to think about it.

Do you work with businesses outside Vancouver?

Yes. Our office is on Victoria Drive in Vancouver and we work across Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Mission, Surrey, the wider Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island — plus clients in Washington State. Most projects run remotely with a mix of video calls and, where it helps, in-person meetings.
