Realtime Weather & Disaster Reporting · Vancouver Island, BC

Earth Signals

Earth Signals turns weather and disaster feeds into a clear, live reporting experience. We built the realtime data pipeline, map interfaces and the public-facing product.

earthsignals.xyz Earth Signals — Realtime Weather & Disaster Reporting

The challenge

During storms, wildfires and seismic events, people need timely, trustworthy information — not a wall of raw feeds. The product had to ingest multiple sources, update in near-realtime and present events on a map people could actually understand on a phone.

How we approached it

  1. 01

Designed map-first interfaces for scanning events quickly under stress.

  2. 02

Built realtime ingestion and update pipelines for weather and disaster feeds.

  3. 03

Prioritised clarity, latency and mobile readability over decorative UI.

  4. 04

Shipped a public product experience that works as both tool and brand.

What changed

  • A live reporting system for weather and disaster events
  • Realtime architecture patterns applied to other client products
  • Another Vancouver Island product proving remote-first delivery works
